LONDON STORIES

These 3 short stories were each inspired by my life living in London. This project was done over two years from 2016-2018 as part of my Masters final.

Each story depicts visually in some way the cityscape of London and any accompanying text draws influence from Psychogeography and my experiences with Flânerie.

The original books were made in editions of 2 each, with personal hand-made bindings and covers.

WESTERLY

This book is inspired by the sights of West London, in particular an ode to the after work hours of commuters returning home or socializing at the pub. Each page is an original screenprint using a warm sunset palette to reflect the end of day.

SOUTHERN TOWERS

The more visual of the three, this story pays homage to the tower blocks and high rises of the South London area. The skinny format of the original book was meant to represent the height of the structures and cropped as seen through the gaps between shorter buildings.

THE LANE

This was the book that formed my initial research into this project. The story is formed against the sights and sounds of my walks to and from university. The original drawings are all monoprints, with an additional riso-printed edition of 8.
